This week a team of Hippos are returning to Leeds Trinity University to deliver a mock assessment centre as part of our strategic education partnership.

It’s crucial for students to gain experience in activities such as assessment centres, as they prepare careers in the digital sector and Hippo are delighted to support this transition.

Jonny Ayling, Delivery Manager at Hippo, recently had the chance to speak with computer science undergrads at our recent Careers Insight event and this assessment centre adds to that partnership, alongside our recent Design in a Day challenge.

“We are really excited to have the opportunity to run an interactive assessment centre for students at Leeds Trinity. We have got big plans to challenge them and test their communication, problem solving and teamwork skills to the max. We also hope it will be a really fun session that everyone enjoys and gets something out of!”

We are delighted to partner with Leeds Trinity University and pleased to be asked back again this week.

“The assessment centre session with Hippo was the culmination of several activities they have done with our computer science students over the past few months. Activities like this are such a worthwhile undertaking for our students, putting into practice the learning from their course as well as being able to engage with real life challenges and develop solutions in a supported environment. We see this as the start of something special with Hippo and can’t wait to see how we can continue the relationship going forward. As well as supporting our students here at Leeds Trinity, we recognise how much the company and its staff get out of working together too!”

This relationship is part of a wider commitment to social value at Hippo, with social equity being a key priority of our efforts to make an impact in our communities.

“Hippo is working hard to secure a sustainable talent pipeline through increased educational engagement. The UK is facing a tech talent shortage and we must do more to inspire, attract and retain the best future talent. By partnering with schools, colleges and universities in our local communities, we are ensuring young people are aware, have access to, and are ready for the exciting range of careers available across our industry. Our partnership with Leeds Trinity is going from strength-to-strength and this week’s assessment centre follows our recent Careers Insight Day and Design in a Day Workshop. It’s great to see both the students and Hippo volunteers getting so much from these collaborative events. We’re already planning what we can do next.”
