Hippo’s Rachel Abbott and Miriam Vaswani will be leading workshops at UX Scotland, taking place on 10 and 11 June.
UX Scotland brings together people working across UX, design, research and content to share practical learning from across the discipline.
Rachel Abbott will lead Constraint as catalyst: the creative researcher’s SCAMPER guide to method adaptation on 10 June, from 11:15 to 13:00.
The workshop will look at how researchers can adapt their methods when standard approaches are not enough, including when working with vulnerable user groups, strict security protocols or limited access. Rachel will explore how constraints can shape more thoughtful and inclusive research design.
Miriam Vaswani will lead Make trauma informed design part of your style guide on 11 June, from 14:00 to 14:45.
The session will look at how trauma informed thinking can support everyday content practice, from language and tone of voice to style guidance. Miriam will explore how teams can make content clearer and more considered for people who may be distressed, overwhelmed or under pressure.
Both sessions focus on practical ways to adapt design, research and content practice when the context is complex.
