We’ve thought about users in user-centred design, considered our components and how people use our services. But what about the planet those people live on?

We’re starting to understand more of our carbon costs, water use and impact on the environment so it’s time to start applying that to our designs. We’ll use this session to reflect and unpack where we can minimise our impact, make better decisions and do that across the whole lifecycle of a product.

About our wonderful speaker, Heather:

Heather studied in Leeds and graduated into the local digital design industry, where she found purpose in working on projects that help create positive change locally and nationally.

Heather currently works at Hippo on the NHS login team. Her passion for sustainability has been pursued alongside this by running the Green Hippos community and volunteering. She’s keen to consider impact and education in and outside of work.

Heather believes in user-centered design, inclusive technology, and responsible media. Her goal in its simplest form is to create something that makes a person smile.
