On the 6th and 7th of June some of our Hippo herd are delighted to be joining the amazing Global GovJam at the Leeds event.
The worldwide concept is based around 48 hours to rock the public sector. Multiple locations, small teams of volunteers meet to make a difference.
We all use government services and we want them to be the best they can be, user friendly, accessible, inclusive and helpful.
The best people to help visualise the right services to find service design solutions are the people that will use those services, that’s you by the way!
At the end of the 2 days they upload their solutions for the world to see. The aim is for the event to be fun and meaningful
The first GovJam started as a pilot in Australia in 2012 by Australia’s Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education.
Teams are made up of attendees with mixed skills. You don’t have to employed in the public sector or have experience and you can participate as part of an organisation or as an individual. The theme is released simultaneously to all the participants to start planning what they want to work on.
There is always a fantastic global social media presence with tweets, and other interaction between teams across the world which helps to create a real buzz and a culture of being part of one large global team
